Donation of wheelchairs- Nov 2010.
  We donated one dozen wheelchairs to Gurudwara Harmander Sahib, Amritsar for the convenience of the aged and the infirm when they visit the “Golden Temple”
Inauguration of Cancer Detection Centre-15Nov
  We enabled the Indian Cancer Society to start HPV/DNA testing for Cervical Cancer by sponsoring fifteen tests every month. This facility was inaugurated on 15 Nov.
Nine is Mine Campaign
  MIF sponsored the printing of pledge cards for the Campaign, which is an initiative of a group of children who aim to ensure that the 9% of the GDP amount allocated for health and education needs of the children of the country is actually allocated
 
Donation of Physiotherapy Equipment- Oct 2010.
  We donated equipment to Deeplaya’s Special Unit in Okhla working for the disabled. The centre takes care of 54 mentally and physically handicapped children and offers speech therapy to the hearing impaired. We also made arrangements for their building to be whitewashed for the Diwali festival.
St Columba’s Eco- Fest Mela-“Panchttatva”- 28 Oct.
  Team MIF participated in the Eco-Fest Mela and organised an Environment Awareness Quiz Competition for the students of the school. 100 students participated. Three lucky winners were given a Diwali Hamper each. We also put up a stall where we displayed our Environment Tips for spreading awareness.
Donation of Blankets and Sweets
  To bring cheer during the Festival of Lights for the 70 patients being cared for by CanSupport Palliative Care Unit of East Delhi, we sent a blanket and a box of sweets for each.

Simarly, a Diwali Hamper of toiletry items and sweets were also given to 25 Street Children of the Jamghat Day Care Centre, Delhi. which is being run under MIF sponsorship.
 
Max Cancer Support Group 29 Sept.
  In association with Max Cancer Centre and volunteers from NGO CanSupport we have started a Cancer Support Group-“Lets Connect” at Max Hospital, Saket. The support group is for the patients and survivors of cancer, their care-givers and their family to get together, to share information and experiences and to introduce positive thinking and action. The first meeting took place on 29th Sept.
 
Eye Check Camps- Sept 2010
 
1. Kilkari Rainbow Home for Street Girls. The camp was organized on 17 Sept at Kashmere Gate, Delhi, in association with the Centre for Equity Studies. Over 75 girls between the ages 5-12 were screened. One girl was identified for a surgery and 8 girls for detailed check up and treatment.
2. Rickshaw Pullers Eye Check Camp. In association with the students of Sri Ram College of Commerce, North Campus, we organised an eye check camp for the rickshaw pullers and their families on 18 Sept as part of their “Health for Happiness” event. 55 patients were screened and two identified for surgery. 29 patients were given spectacles. Mrs Mohini Daljeet Singh was the Guest of Honour for the event.
MIF in Ladakh- Follow up Sept 2010.
  As a follow –up to the MIF Camps in Ladakh, 148 pairs of spectacles were sent to the patients identified at the Eye Camps. We also despatched 150 sleeping bags for donation to the flood and mud slide victims during the Leh Cloudburst.
 
Relief for Uttrakhand.
  100 blankets were sent to the flood victims of the region and distributed by the MLIC Office at Dehradun. We thank Col (Retd) KK Phul, Joint Advisor, Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd. for his generous donation of these blankets.
 
Clean Delhi-NCR Drive 6-11 Sept.
  Along with Max Healthcare, we sponsored and actively participated in the drive from 6-11 Sept, to spruce up the National Capital ahead of the XIX Commonwealth Games. Mohini Daljeet Singh, Head MIF was invited to address the hundreds of school children, student activists and members of the RWAs and other invitees who were present during the closing ceremony. She stressed the need to continue the Cleaning Drive and bring Accountability.
Disaster Relief in Leh 7th Agust, 2010
  The medical team which was already in Ladakh, moved into the devastated capital city of Leh, on 7th August. The team proceeded to the Army General Hospital, where the injured were admitted and offered their services to the Army Medical Corps.
Medicines were also donated. On return, 50,000 water purifying tablets were dispatched.
Health Camps in Ladakh– 02 to 07 Aug 2010
  Max India Foundation conducted four multi-speciality health camps in the remote areas of Ladakh in association with the Army located there. A team comprising of seven senior and experienced doctors and technicians from the various disciplines, participated in the camps at Karu, Pangong Tso Lake and two camps at Tangtse.
· Total screened and given free medicines- 1108.
· Six patients identified for cardiac surgeries to be conducted at Max Hospital, Delhi.
· 148 spectacles has been dispatched to the identified patients.

BLOOD DONATION TO THE ARMED FORCES – 17TH JULY 2010
  A camp to donate blood to the Armed Forces to commemorate the 11th Anniversary of Kargil Diwas was held in the office of Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Co, Connaught Place. A team from the Armed forces Transfusion Centre, collected the blood which will be used in various Military Hospitals. Volunteers from Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Co and nearby areas donated blood displaying great enthusiasm and patriotism. 72 units of blood were collected. The camp was a resounding success.

 We were also honoured to have with us a high level team of Army Officers and ladies, who came to encourage our donors. They were given a presentation on the initiatives of MIF. They were highly appreciative. Quoting Lt. General JP Singh, Deputy Chief of Army Staff from our visitors book, “Compliments to Max India Group in setting a benchmark in Corporate Social Responsibility. Wishing you further glory."

Donation of Artificial Limb
  Manish Chauhan an Enroller in Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd. lost a portion of his right leg in a train accident. He required further amputation and an artificial limb. Max India Foundation had sponsored his surgery at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket in December 09. He was provided a Prosthetic Limb in June 2010.  Manish is happy with his new limb, and ready to lead his life productively with dignity
Access to Emergency Care
  Max India Foundation donated a Maruti Omni Vehicle to a Trust named “Social Development Forum, Khoriah”, Bihar, for transportation of poor and underprivileged population of Village Khoriah and surrounding areas during medical emergency. The vehicle was handed over on 16 June 2010 to Mr. Martin Alexius who belongs to this remote and backward village and is also a member Trustee. A First Aid Box containing medicines for 200 children and adults was also donated to the Trust
Short Film on Anti Tobacco- “Six Seconds”
  For World Anti Tobacco Day-31st May 2010, a short film entitled “Six Seconds” was produced by Max India Foundation. This film was made as a social message and in public interest to make people aware of the ills of smoking. It was endorsed by Fashion Designer Rohit Bal. It was telecast by CNN-IBN and Bloomberg UTV channels throughout the day and screened on LCD screens in all Max Hospitals and in more than 150 different locations under arrangements of OOH India and DSM respectively. In Aid of Celiac Society
  Max India Foundation sponsored a special screening of the film ‘Kites’ in aid of Celiac Society on 22 May 2010, at PVR Priya Cinema, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. The event was attended by 1000 leading doctors, nutritionists and eminent professionals. The event was organized to make people aware on the importance of timely diagnosis and management of celiac disease
NURSES DAY 2010
  The Nurses Fraternity of Max Healthcare celebrated “Nurses Day 2010” at FICCI Auditorium, New Delhi on 6th May.  As a token of appreciation of their dedication, MIF was happy to sponsor a gift to all nurses who participated in the cultural event. 
Visit to Raphael Dehradun (6-8 May)
  Mr. Analjit Singh and later Mrs. Mohini Daljeet Singh visited the Raphael Centre at Dehradun from 6-8 May, and interacted with staff and inmates of the Home. Mr. Analjit Singh was extremely happy with the excellent work being done by them and decided to offer partnership and support by proposing that Max India Foundation cover all expenses for the full calendar month of October 2010. Various medical camps and specialist visits would also be organized during the month. Immunization would be covered for all the children. We will be putting up special stalls Pre-Diwali time, for the sale of the beautiful candles and diyas made by the special children.
Women Health Check Camp – 5th May
  A Women Health Check Camp was organized on 5th May, at Madangir Village in association with NGO Credence and support of Dr. Shamama Nasreen, Gynaecologist Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. Free medicines were given to patients.
Climate Change Awareness
  Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated an Awareness program on Climate Change for Delhi’s School Students and a web plat-form – “GreenSpaces Ideas” on World Earth Day, Thursday, 22 April. Ms Mohini Daljeet Singh Head Max India Foundation participated in the launch and Max Healthcare was one of the sponsors for the event.
Carnival for Special Children
  Max India Foundation participated in the Freesia Sports Meet and Kids Carnival, organized for special children, attended by Shri Dushyant  Singh, Lok Sabha MP, Ms Nafisa Ali, Actor and Mr Angad Kalan, Polo Player on Sunday, 18th April at Jesus and Mary College Ground, New Delhi .
Max Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery organized a special event on Saturday, 10 April to honour “Patients of Courage” who have undergone incredibly complex surgeries and triumphed over adversity. Max India Foundation sponsored six children for Cleft Lip and palate surgery.
Health Camp on World Health Day
  A Health Check cum Awareness Camp for NGO Samarpan was organized on World Health day - 7 April 2010. Dr. Anupam Prakash from Max Healthcare and Dr. Arundeep Bagania from Max Neeman conducted the check ups and gave free medicines.
Immunization Camps in April 2010. 1540  children immunized in 14 locations.
Surgeries for Genesis Foundation
  Max India Foundation in October 2009 had made a commitment to Genesis Foundation to sponsor two pediatric cardiac surgeries.  The first child was operated in Dec 2009. The second child Kush was operated on 23rd March at Max Devki Devi Hospital in Saket. Surgery was performed by Dr. Viresh Mahajan and Dr. Kulbhushan Dagar.
Lifeline Express Camp
  Sponsored by Max India Foundation, a Camp was held  with Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Swasthya Seva Mission aboard the LIFE LIFELINE EXPRESS at Dabra, Gwalior from 7th March to 1st April. A total of 9124 patients examined. 268 cataract, 18 reconstructive and 25 orthopaedic surgeries were conducted. 464 cardiac patients were screened and 4846 patients were given spectacles.
Clean Delhi Clean Yamuna
  MIF and Max Healthcare supported a cleanliness drive at Kalindi Kunj undertaken by the “Art of Living” group from 17-25 March. Health check camp was organized by Max Healthcare on 24 March at Okhla Ghat. A General Physician and Pediatrician screened cases from the Okhla Juggis and free medicines were given.
Health Check camp, Shalimar Bagh (MCD Primary School) – 19 February
  Max India Foundation with Max Healthcare organised a Free Health Check camp for children of MCD Primary school at Haiderpur Village in Shalimar Bagh. 471 children (341 girls and 130 boys) were checked by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Dr Pankaj and Dr. Prashant from Max Pitampura.  Dr. Yashika Pandey, dentist from Max Dental Centre Panchsheel, delivered an informative talk on oral health and hygiene. Max India Foundation’s Oral Health and Hygiene film was also screened.
Reconstructive Surgery
  On 16 February 11 month old Raja supported by Max India Foundation underwent complex reconstructive surgery to repair his cleft palate by Dr. Sunil Choudhary and Dr. Raghav Mantri at Max Balaji Hospital, Patparganj, New Delhi
 
Multispeciality Health Check Camp for the people of village Palsora
  A camp was organized on 14 Feb at the PIngalwara Chartitable Society, Chandigarh centre. Dr. Smriti Bouri, Dentist, Dr Jay Kirtani, Internal Medicine, Dr. Sonika Gupta, Eye Specialist, Dr. Gurpreet Batra, Gynaecologist, Dr. Ajay Pal Singh- Psychiatrist, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, General Surgeon, Shri OM Gupta, Optometrist and Parminder Kaur from Max Healthcare participated in the camp. We were able to serve 505 patients and gave them free medicines.
Walk for Life Cansupport – 7th Feb
  Max India Foundation mobilized 288 employees from the Max Group to participate in the Walk for Life organised by CanSupport on 7th February. Max Group won the award for the largest group representation.
Khel Khel Mein Sports Event- 6th February
  Max India Foundation sponsored 20 children from NGO Samarpan to participate in the sports event organised by Concern India Foundation. They children displayed great enthusiasm and spirit.  Sanju and Suraj won prizes.
Credence Health Check Camp- 4th February
  Max India Foundation through Max Health care organised a Health Check and Immunization camp for women and children at Credence Public School in Madangir Village. Dr. Vikas, Pediatrician, Max Hospital Saket checked 79 children. 40 children were immunized with MMR. Dr. Pratima Kiro, Max Panchsheel checked 21 women and gave medicines..

  Talk by Dr. Nandini Hazarika, Consultant Pediatric Oncology, Max Cancer Care Centre gave the key note address for the 9th Annual Foundation Course in Palliative Care organised by  NGO CanSuppport  on 23 January  2010 at India International Centre.
